VAT and import duties
Prices exclude VAT. Since we’re based in Scotland, UK, 20% VAT is added for UK customers.
Customers outside the UK are responsible for all VAT duties and fees on goods shipped from the UK. However, for the US, we’ll charge a 10% tariff (displayed as VAT at checkout) and pay it upfront as Royal Mail only offers this option.
Declared value for customs
The full price is clearly stated on the customs form as “Sale of goods” – no “Gift” or “Commercial sample”. We kindly request that you refrain from asking us to deviate from this practice. Our goal is to conduct an honest business, adhere to the rules and avoid any potential issues.
Payments and currency
Payments are processed by Stripe and accept major credit and debit cards. Apple Pay and Google Pay offer fast checkout. Kaamos Tech doesn’t store payment information; if you choose to save your card for future orders (which you don’t have to) the information is stored with the payment provider not us. All prices are in British Pounds (GBP, £). If your payment method’s currency differs, please check your bank’s exchange rates and fees.
Price changes
Our prices may occasionally change and likely will. We’re a micro-business with very small production batches so fluctuations in component prices exchange rates and tariffs can significantly and quickly impact our costs. Consequently, we might need to adjust prices between batches.
Order processing time
All items in stock are ready for shipping but we don’t process and ship orders daily. We aim to dispatch them within three days and will let you know if it takes longer. For faster delivery, please contact us first. You’ll likely need a faster shipping method too.
Shipping methods and charges
The default shipping option is Royal Mail, the UK postal service. This will switch to your country’s local postal company upon arrival. Unfortunately, we can’t provide details about local postal or courier services in each country so please confirm locally. Tracking availability also varies by country and sometimes even tracked services don’t offer accurate tracking.
Current shipping charges and options:
- UK:
- Royal Mail Tracked 24: £4.70.
- Europe:
- International Tracked/Signed*: £9.50.
- Rest of the world:
- International Tracked/Signed*: £13.00.
*We use International Tracked shipping when available to your country. However, in rare cases only International Signed shipping is available and tracking may not be updated after the parcel leaves the UK.
For courier services, please contact us. For higher order values, we might also use a courier for faster and more reliable delivery. If so, please leave your contact number.
Packing material reuse
We exclusively purchase recycled or recyclable packing material, with the exception of mini grip and ESD bags. However, we receive a significant amount of plastic bubble wrap and foam padding from other companies which we re-use when fulfilling our orders. Additionally, mini grip bags may be re-used Mouser or Digikey bags.
