MCHStreamer Buffer 2 – I2S Interface to miniDSP MCHStreamer
- I2S clock buffer interface to miniDSP MCHStreamer or MCHStreamer Lite USB-module.
- Two sets of clock outputs, and two stereo data inputs and outputs offer following interface options:
- Two Stereo DACs (or other data input devices), or
- Two Stereo ADCs (or other data output devices), or
- One Stereo DAC and one Stereo ADC, or
- Two ADC AK5572 Mono ADCs in Dual Mono configuration.
- All four input and output channels can be used if clocks are buffered (e.g. with Clock Buffer 1-3).
- The clocks are always outputs – all external boards must be I2S Slaves.
- EN-input to enable/disable clock outputs.
- Compact 48 mm x 40 mm 4-layer PCB sits on top of MCHStreamer.
- LMK1C110x clock buffers.
- Takes power from MCHStreamer.
Use with miniDSP MCHStreamer
MCHStreamer is a versatile board that offers lots of connection and format options. However, they are not all available simultaneously but instead several firmware options are available. Please read and understand the MCHStreamer User Manual prior to connecting external boards to it. We have used AllRate (8ch in/out, up to 192kHz) and HighRate (4ch in/out, up to 384kHz) firmwares in our evaluation.

Product options
The two options look almost identical but have different BOM.
‘Stereo’ product option is the ‘normal’ configuration with two stereo data inputs along with two stereo data outputs. The two stereo signals connect to data channels 1/2 and 3/4 in the MCHStreamer.
2x Stereo variant.
‘Dual Mono’ option picks Left/1 channel from DM1 input and Right/2 channel from DM2 input and forms a single stereo signal going to MCHStreamer data input channels 1/2. You could think that from input channels 1-4, channels 1 and 4 are taken as 1/2. This is meant to be used with two Mono ADC AK5572 boards that have identical channel data in both output channels and it works without extra configuration.
Dual Mono variant.
Important information on order
- All components are soldered down and the board is fully tested.
- Please ensure you have the skills to connect the board in your system – and most of all understand what you are doing.
